Though hesitant, they agree to give a relationship a try. Sean is struggling as the sole caretaker for his dementia-ridden mother Ellen. Laura tries supporting Sean, but when she brings him home to meet her devout Christian mother Lorna, things spiral out of control. Sean defends Laura, causing a fight with Lorna. Laura breaks up with Sean, but later returns with a touching video Ellen left for Sean before passing away. Sean and Laura grow closer.In the second episode, Laura learns Sean was hospitalized but hid it from her. He admits being afraid about his health and not wanting to worry Laura. He also reveals his ex-wife Kerri tried reuniting with him at the hospital, but he rejected her. Laura is furious over the secrecy and ends things. In the third episode, Sean desperately attempts winning Laura back by professing his love outside her apartment. Though tempted, Laura resists reconciling. In a passionate moment, they accidentally kiss before a heartbroken Sean leaves.In the fourth episode, Sean discloses to Laura he has a heart condition called sarcoidosis. Upset over the lies but glad Sean is okay, they seem to reach an understanding. In the fifth episode, at the hospital after Sean's discharge, Laura realizes he is still hiding something about his stay. Sean admits Kerri kept trying to see him there, which he concealed from Laura. Laura is devastated Sean chose Kerri over her and they share an emotional goodbye, both heartbroken.In the sixth and final episode, a year later Sean and Laura serendipitously meet again at the Louvre in Paris. Laura reveals she has a macho French boyfriend named Jean who she hates. Sensing unresolved feelings, they agree to meet later so Laura can break up with Jean and decide if they should reconcile. Laura later excitedly meets Sean, having ended things with Jean, who reacted badly. Sean and Laura acknowledge their enduring love and decide to finally be together for good.Overall, "Ready For Love" is a turbulent romance between two flawed people overcoming trust issues and their pasts. Though their relationship shows promise, Sean's dishonesty ultimately breaks them apart. In the end, fate brings them back together as they recognize they share an unforgettable bond.
